Colonoscopy
While many patients with small amounts of intermittent bleeding likely have irritation from hemorrhoids, more serious causes cannot be ruled out without an examination. Additional risk factors such as use of blood thinners, family history of GIcancers/polyps or colitis may also contribute. Patients with bleeding or unexplained anemia should ALWAYSbe considered for evaluation with colonoscopy and/or endoscopy to try and identify a bleeding source which could possibly be treated during the procedure.
Constipation
Irritable Bowel Syndrome
No blood test or x-ray study can identify irritable bowel syndrome, but these tests may be used to help rule out other disorders with similar symptoms. Some patients may also require endoscopy or colonoscopy to help make the correct diagnosis.

Endoscopy
Acid reflux – often called heartburn – occurs when acid from the stomach refluxes (flows back) into the esophagus. This can cause discomfort and may damage the lining of the esophagus. In some cases, chronic acid reflux can lead to scarring and the development of Barrett’s Esophagus, a precancerous condition. Sometimes patients can have non-erosive reflux disease of which findings at endoscopy appear normal. This can be further evaluated with a wireless pH probe (BRAVO) which is placed during the endoscopic procedure allowing us to better accurately make a diagnosis.

Ultrasound
Improve difficult-to-heal fractures with bone growth stimulation. This advanced technology provides a low electrical current or ultrasound to your fracture, promoting bone growth. CNOS teams are fully trained in this enhanced recovery method, and have everything you need to make your best recovery.
MRI
MRI scans evaluate internal conditions using a magnetic field, focusing on tendons, ligaments, nerves (soft tissue) and tumors. With the addition of the Imaging Center expansion, CNOS now houses 2 MRI machines with one ‘caring suite’ to keep patients relaxed during exams. The average scan time with this state-of-the-art technology decreases from roughly 45 to 27 minutes.
Radiology
Once a week the multidisciplinary team meets to discuss all current cases. This eliminates any communication breakdowns. They will discuss your case, based on your latest medical records, photos, and radiology slides and agree on a recommended plan of treatment. A coordinator will call you directly with the outcome of that meeting and if more procedures or tests need to be ordered.
X-Rays
Computed Tomography
CT scans offer low dose radiation scans using 32 slice CT technology. The average scan time is 10-15 minutes. With this state-of-the-art machine, CNOS is able to focus on injuries, conditions, and diagnostic testing for fractures, acute injuries, and bone structure including but not limited to: chest, abdomen, pelvis, and digestive tract issues (internal bleeding/Diverticulitis)
Chemotherapy
Patients who are diagnosed with colon cancer can expect to receive compassionate, meticulous care at Midlands Clinic. We sometimes use advanced laparoscopic surgery techniques to perform colon cancer surgery. While surgery is usually the most effective way to remove cancerous parts of the colon, treatments such as chemotherapy or radiation may be needed to treat cancer that has spread beyond the colon.

Achilles Tendonitis
Ankle Sprain
Our feet and ankles are the foundation of all of our daily activities. By simply going on with our daily routines, we subconsciously apply 3-4 times of body weight to the feet and ankles over many thousands of steps per day. This leads to frequent injuries that are often misunderstood and misdiagnosed. Foot & ankle injuries and ailments can occur at any age. Whether you’re an active athlete or on your feet all day at work, foot & ankle conditions can take on many forms: fractures, sprains, arthritis, and more. When any of these occur, you want the best possible care from trained experts. It is crucial that each patient is thoroughly evaluated for an accurate diagnosis so a timely and effective treatment can be provided.
Bunions Problems
When you’re always on the go, even a seemingly small toe injury can impact your overall well-being. Treating these ailments can be as simple as wearing a better pair of shoes. However, common problems like bunions, hammer toe, Morton’s neuroma, and ingrown toenails can require surgery if left unattended.

Allergies
Celiac disease can be diagnosed with blood tests, but should be confirmed with a biopsy of the small intestine done at the time of an endoscopy. Food allergy testing for gluten is not as specific as a direct blood test or a biopsy and should be viewed cautiously. Some patients may have intolerance for gluten-containing products but not actually have celiac disease – your physician can help to distinguish these situations from one another.
