The residents are expected to enforce all community rules for the assoc. You gotta rat out your neighbors and take photos yourself to turn into the assoc. (it’s a terrible feeling). I live on a trail with no back neighbors and they do not trim trees, collect leaves or rake the pine needles. That would be up to the resident to report their maintenance to them. Most people don’t leash their large dogs while walking them. I’ve talked to a few other neighbors who like myself are scared to walk our smaller dogs because of this. There’s a pretty consistent fowl smell of manure in the air. Residents who’ve lived here a long time are not welcoming at all to new residents. Positives are having wildlife in your yard, it’s quiet and peaceful. I’ll either sell and move depending on interest rates or rent my house and leave.

Dakota Dunes is a nice, amazing, calm town with pools, fountains, and large, nice houses. Green grass encompasses the landscape of trees, brush, and bushes and it is all a beautiful sight. However, I wish that fireworks were allowed for discharge on New Year’s Eve and that the membership was less expensive at the Dakota Dunes Country Club.

The Dakota Dunes could not get any better, I grew up in this neighborhood, with children playing outside everyday, running around and no parent has to worry about their kids because it is such a safe place. It is very family friendly, and there are always neighborhood bonfires and parties that families throw very often. This huge neighborhood is a big family.

I love living right on the river. We bout, fish and swim all the time. Adem’s nature center is about 10 miles away which have great walking and biking trails. McCook lake is also close by if the river is not for you. There is a nice public library and there are community events like the chilly feed in November. Dakota Dunes is a really nice small town.

Dakota Dunes is a great place to live, if you're well-off, and want to be around other people who are white and well-off. There is very little crime, lots of friendly and outgoing people, and a strong sense of community. Overall it is lacking in diversity, both racially and financially. The local public school is pretty good, but not the best. Overall, the close-knit community makes it a pretty solid place to reside.

Dakota Dunes is a great place to live, friendly neighbors, good property values, safe for our kids, nice parks, and low crime rates! Close to metro area, but far enough away to feel like a small town.

This is a quiet little golfing community. Great place to raise children. It is an affluent community, we have private security which is fantastic. It is always growing. The down side is we don't have grocery stores, shopping etc however it's all within 5-10 miles of Sioux City, IA. It was built around a golf course designed by Arnold Palmer and is next to the Missouri River. Strict HOA however I don't mind that at all, I don't have to look at a toilet in a yard or unkept homes. Very friendly neighborhoods, kid friendly neighborhoods. Everyone really watches out for each others children. We have a magazine for the community that centers around families, businesses, sports, what is going on in the community. It's great to read monthly.

We live near the Interstate and our community is not a town. Our school district is built around 3 different community areas. I wish it was more a community

There are plenty of health related services available as well as a multitude of sidewalks and bike paths around for those who do not wish to drive to a gym to run on a tredmill.

There is very little crime in the area. The occasional incidents that occur are usually limited to minor vandalism, typically around Homecoming, and they are quickly dealt with.

There is forest area in the southeast corner of the state that is perfect more all sorts of outdoor activities including bird wathing and running to start with. Also, Adam's Nature Preserve is located just a few miles away.

Sat in the Park draws several thousands of people each summer. The college athletic tournaments at the Tyson draws many people for the week. RAGBRAI starts in Sioux City this summer.
